About
Who writes this thing you may well be wondering. Me too.
Well, I’m female, my name is Melissa. I have long hair, possibly too long, I think it needs cutting and of course it’s curly hence Frizz. I have braces; real proper glued on won’t come out braces. I’m a little old to have braces - bah, you are never too old to have braces. I live in London either in the suburbs or in the city, depending on who you are, with a family of mice in a big house in need of a lot of repair and a new boiler.
As I write I possibly have toothache, but with the braces it’s hard to tell.
I am co-owner of a dog who’s going grey and ever since the vet suggested it, I’ve been worried she has mange, but lets not go there.
I’m good at procrastinating. It’s taken me a long time to write something here.
For the real stuff: I use a Mac - it’s a love hate thing- but the love side always wins. Currently it’s a beautiful 15″ G4 Powerbook.
I use Wordpress for Frizz, upgraded from Blogger and Photoshop for touching up (mucking around with) photo’s, which then get put on Flickr. I’ve ordered photo’s from Photobox and was pretty pleased with them. A Small Orange hosts this site.
I take pictures with my cameraphone, a Samsung D500 and with a Sony W17 - a wonderful digital compact. I’m dreaming about owning a DSLR. If I go back to traditional film, then I’m using a Nikon N6006, bought at that great shop in New York, which was run by orthodox Jews and doesn’t exist anymore (sh, don’t tell the taxman).
I work as a freelance researcher with an interest in history, film and photography.
My grandparents came from three different countries, so I’m a little confused, but that’s OK.
For the past year or so I’ve had a bad wrist so some things like yoga and knitting and cycling don’t happen, but it’s on the mend.
I’m part of a science group with a bunch of very nice people with a yearning to understand this great world in all its many facets, although it has to be said, mostly we just end up laughing a lot.
gosh well… to be continued…
